Sacha Baron Cohen hits back over Rebel Wilson book
Australian actress Rebel Wilson and British actor Sacha Baron Cohen are embroiled in a disagreement regarding Wilson’s intentions to include what Baron Cohen deems as “demonstrably false claims” about him in her upcoming memoir.
Wilson has hinted at a chapter dedicated to Baron Cohen in her forthcoming memoir but has refrained from divulging specifics. She recently said she would not be “bullied or silenced” by his lawyers.
His spokesperson said her claims would be “directly contradicted by extensive detailed evidence”.
The duo previously collaborated on Baron Cohen’s 2016 film “Grimsby”. Wilson portrayed Dawn, the girlfriend of Baron Cohen’s character, Nobby, who becomes entangled in his spy brother’s world.
In a recent Instagram video, Wilson teased her book’s content, mentioning her experience working with someone she described using colourful language. She has now identified Baron Cohen as the subject of that chapter.
“I will not be bullied or silenced by high-priced lawyers of PR crisis managers.”
Wilson’s book is slated for release in the US on April 2nd.
