Roy Keane has suggested a mass clear-out is needed at Manchester United (The Overlap)
Roy Keane believes at least 10 Manchester United players should leave the club next summer.
United currently sit sixth in the Premier League after their 2-1 win over Chelsea on Wednesday evening while Erik ten Hag has faced heavy criticism over his side’s inconsistent performances this season.
Keane believes several members of Ten Hag’s squad are not good enough to secure a long-term place in the team, including those who have joined during the Dutchman’s reign.
During a game of ‘Keep, last straw or ditch’ on the Stick to Football podcast, Gary Neville went through almost every player in the current United squad and among those Keane listed in the ‘ditch’ category were Victor Lindelof, Harry Maguire, Raphael Varane, Diogo Dalot, Jonny Evans, Christian Eriksen, Antony, Anthony Martial and Jadon Sancho.
Keane also included United’s summer signing Sofyan Amrabat, who joined on loan from Fiorentina in September, as one of the players who should not keep a place in Ten Hag’s squad.

In the ‘last straw’ category Keane placed Andre Onana, who joined in a £47 million deal from Inter in the summer, Luke Shaw, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Scott McTominay.
Keane was also hesitant about Rashford’s long-term future at Old Trafford.
‘I’m not sure about Marcus,’ Keane said.
‘The whole package… personality, his mood swings. He’s a talented player, but if you’re not going to work hard, and he’s having these dips every now and again, there’s all this talk about his confidence, off-the-field stuff. Just turn up every week and do the business.
‘Marcus is 26. When’s the penny going to drop for him?’
