Cliff Notes – Rod Stewart’s swear word revealed after he drops expletive on live TV at the AMAs

    • Rod Stewart accidentally swore on stage at the AMAs while accepting a Lifetime Achievement Award, expressing surprise at the presence of his five eldest children.
    • CBS quickly cut away from the moment to avoid broadcasting the expletive, focusing instead on the audience’s reactions during his speech.

Rod Stewart’s swear word revealed after he drops expletive on live TV at the AMAs

Rod Stewart accidentally swore while on stage at the AMAs as he was surprised by his children in an adorable moment.

Rod Stewart accepted a Lifetime Achievement Award onstage during the 51st American Music Awards on Monday night.

The singer, 80, arrived on stage to find himself surprised by five of his eldest children, who presented him with the award.

Kimberly Stewart, 45, Sean Stewart, 44, Ruby Stewart, 37, Renee Stewart, 32, and Liam McAlister Stewart, 30, were all clapping as their father arrived on stage.

Rod Stewart accidentally dropped the F-bomb while on stage at the AMAs

‘I’m so f***ing overwhelmed that you’re here,’ accidentally dropping the F-word, according to US News reporter at the ceremony.

CBS, which aired the ceremony, cut away quickly to avoid airing the expletive and instead showed the audience members holding up their phones to film his speech.

Rod’s five children greeted him on stage.

    Who are Rod Stewart’s children?

Rod Stewart has eight children from five different relationships.

The star’s eldest daughter is Sarah Streeter, who was born in 1964. Rod and Susannah Boffey gave their daughter up for adoption but reconnected later in life.

During his first marriage to Alana Stewart, the pair had a daughter, Kimberly Alana Stewart, born in 1979, and a son, Sean Roderick Stewart, born in 1980.

In 1987, Rod and Kelly Emberg had a daughter named Ruby Stewart.

During Rod’s second marriage to Rachel Hunter, the couple had two children, a daughter Renee Cecili Stewart, born in 1992, and a son Liam McAlister Stewart, born in 1994.

Rod married his third wife, Penny Lancaster-Stewart, in 2007 and the pair has two children. Alastair Wallace Stewart was born in 2005 and Aiden Patrick Stewart was born in 2011.

During his speech, the singer made a joke about how many children he has as he spoke about his long career in the music industry.

‘I’ve got eight [kids] all together,’ Stewart said, as he then joked, ‘I didn’t have a television.’

‘That was a little joke,’ he clarified. ‘When I started singing in the early ’60s, well before all of you lot were here, the reason I got into it [was] because I had this burning ambition to sing.’

He added humbly: ‘It’s all I wanted to do. I didn’t want to be rich or famous, and here I am a few years later, picking up this wonderful award.’

Rod’s wife Penny Lancaster Stewart also took to social media to share her pride.

‘So proud of my man – lifetime achievement award,’ said Penny with an image of her husband in a ruffled shirt and suit.

Rod looked dapper in the image from his wife and the singer performed during the awards show delighting the audience at the performance.

Rod Stewart was the first performer revealed for Glastonbury 2025, taking the iconic Sunday afternoon legend slot in a historic move.

The singer has revealed that while he is ‘proud’ to return to perform on the Pyramid Stage, 22 years after he headlined the festival, it’s going to cost him a great deal financially.

‘It’s going to cost me a fortune to do it – $300,000, (£ 221,640)’ the Maggie May singer told Alan Brazil on talkSPORT Breakfast in November 2024.

‘I’ve got to bring all my band back from America, of course, Glastonbury don’t pay for that.’

He then added that the cost didn’t bother him as the slot was an ‘honour’: ‘But I don’t care if it cost me $ 1 million, I would have done it. This is a great honour. It really is the greatest honour.’
