Rocks hurled at Jewish children while attackers shout ‘f*** Israel’

Students at Jews’ Free School were travelling home on the 688 bus when they were attacked

Jewish children on their way home from school had rocks and rubbish thrown at them while attackers stormed their school bus screaming ‘f*** Israel’.

Students at Jews’ Free School in Kenton, north London, were travelling home on Wednesday afternoon on the 688 bus when teenagers from another school began throwing ‘big, heavy rocks’ at them in Edgware.

Four teenagers then boarded one of the buses, and began making antisemitic remarks towards the students.

One witness told the Jewish Chronicle: ‘They were also swearing at us, saying, ‘F*ck Israel, nobody likes you. F*ck off you b*tches.’

Terrified students either ran off the bus or hid under their seats as the attackers began filming the incident on their phones.

The incident was not reported to the police until one of the children told their parents about the ordeal.

The Metropolitan Police said: ”Officers in Barnet are investigating a potential hate crime after a school bus was targeted on High Street, Edgware.

‘Stones were thrown at the bus before a group of other students got on and made antisemitic remarks towards those on board.

‘Officers from the safer transport team have spoken to the victims involved, as well as their parents, and enquiries are ongoing.’

No arrests have been made so far.

Superintendent Lorraine Busby-McVey, in charge of neighbourhood policing in Barnet, said: ‘This was a distressing incident for those on the bus and the behaviour of the individuals responsible is completely unacceptable.

‘There is no place for hate crime either here or across the rest of London, and a thorough investigation is underway.’
