A woman is in a coma after suffering from a dramatic fall at Robbie Williams’ concert in Sydney, Australia.

The Take That star is currently embarking on his XXV tour around the world with a performance at the Allianz Stadium on Thursday, November 16, taking a dramatic turn.

The fan, believed to be in her 70s, was taken to hospital with severe head injuries and placed into a medically induced coma after the accident.

She is thought to have been on the upper grandstand level and trying to climb over seats when she fell in what has been called a ‘serious incident’.

An ambulance service spokesperson confirmed to Sky News Australia that she was in critical condition after paramedics were called to the scene at 10.15pm.

Venues NSW confirmed in a statement: ‘This is a terribly sad incident and our thoughts and wishes are with the patron and their family during this time. The patron was attended to immediately by venue staff and a nearby guest who is a qualified medical professional.

‘Medics arrived shortly after and the patron was taken from the venue by ambulance to hospital.’

Despite the accident, the gig appears to have been a success with Robbie posting post on Instagram about the concert, writing: ‘Sydney: that was an unforgettable evening, thank you – I love you, Australia. Congratulations to Daniel and Lauren – I wish you a lifetime of happiness together. Rob x.’

Robbie has not yet addressed the fall but fans thanked him for the ‘amazing’ evening, seemingly unaware of the accident.

One wrote: ‘Thanks Rob! It was an amazing evening. So privileged to be part of it. It brought me much joy. I hope the rest of the tour is just as fabulous for you.’

‘My 7th Robbie Williams Concert- getting better with age! Amazing night!’ shared another.

Metro has reached out to Robbie’s representatives for comment.
