Rio Ferdinand believes Jadon Sancho will be forced to seek a move to Saudi Arabia or spend the rest of the season on the bench after being dropped by Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag.
Sancho was left out of the United side that fell to a 3-1 defeat to Arsenal on Sunday.
In his post-match press conference, the United boss revealed the former Borussia Dortmund star was not included due to his performances in training – with Sancho hitting back shortly after in an astonishing statement, claiming he has been made a ‘scapegoat’.
The 23-year-old has not started a game this season with Sunday’s developments throwing his future at the club in doubt.
Assessing the situation, United legend Ferdinand believes the winger may now have to find a move with the Saudi transfer window closing on 20 September.
‘I’d be in the office saying what the f**k are you talking about, how dare you come out and question my professionalism when I’ve trained as well as anyone this week, what ae you talking about,’ Ferdinand told Vibe with Five. ‘I’d be giving it to him.
‘If you’ve played well. But no way Jadon is putting out a statement if he hasn’t, in his own eyes, performed well. That is the difference.

‘On his chart, Jadon trained alright but the manager will have a certain standard. There is only one way this ends right now. Or two ways, actually.
‘There is only one window open and that is Saudi. Or you’re on the bench or not in the squad for the rest of the season.’
Ferdinand added: ‘He [ten Hag] must have something in his back pocket, some evidence, to say that was s**t, that was poor.
‘But I can’t envisage Jadon… he doesn’t speak, he doesn’t do interviews, you don’t see him out and about talking… so for him to come out so quick, there needs to be some truth to what he’s [Sancho] saying.
‘You have got to be back it up. He almost needs one of the players to say, ‘I thought you trained alright to be honest.’
