Ex-Chelsea star Timo Werner could be set for a return to the Premier League after RB Leipzig put the striker up for sale.
The Germany international joined Chelsea in 2020 for a fee of around £56million after the Blues saw off competition from Liverpool.
However, Werner’s two seasons in London were far from successful as he struggled for form and fitness.
Werner returned to former club Leipzig in 2022 for a cut-price fee of around £25m but his confidence has plummeted this term.
Leipzig acknowledge that Werner has been struggling, and say they are ‘supporting’ the striker.
But the Germans say they will listen to offers for Werner if he makes it clear he wants to leave the club.

‘We look carefully at our squad, and we want players who have that something a bit different in their heads,’ said Leizpig director Rouven Schroder.
‘Those are the types of players who we will pick. Timo is going through a difficult spell, and we are supporting him. Life isn’t always sunshine.
‘If he has the notion that he would like to do something else, then we will deal with it. He is a part of our team, and he has to face up to competition for places.’
