Rashford may miss England’s first 2022 World Cup qualifier
England and Manchester United striker, Marcus Rashford, may potentially miss England’s opening 2022 World Cup qualifier against San Marino due to a foot injury.Â
Rashford picked up the injury last Thursday when Manchester United defeated AC Milan 1-0 in their second leg tie of the Europa League Round of 16.Â
Subsequently, Rashford missed United’s FA Cup Quarter-Final against Leicester, but was still named in England manager Gareth Southgate’s squad for the World Cup qualifiers.
Rashford has been training in the gym as he hopes to recover in time for England’s World Cup qualifier against San Marino, but remains a major doubt.
Furthermore, Arsenal’s young star, Bukayo Saka, will miss England’s World Cup qualifier against San Marino due a hamstring injury he suffered against Tottenham.
Saka did play 74 minutes against West Ham, but will be rested for the match against San Marino in the hopes he will recover in time for the other World Cup qualifiers against Albania and Poland.
