Ralf Rangnick delivers brutal verdict on state of Man Utd

Manchester United interim manager Ralf Rangnick delivers brutal verdict on the state of Man Utd. He has warned the team simply are not good enough to challenge for the Premier League title in their current state.

United find themselves seventh in the Premier League and well out of the title picture already. They sit 14 points behind leaders Manchester City but could close that gap in Rangnick’s first game in charge when Crystal Palace visit Old Trafford on Sunday.

    State of Man Utd

Rangnick’s arrival at the club has been met with real optimism, and while the boss shares that positivity, he was keen to remind fans of the reality of the team’s current situation.

“I am more than optimistic, but I also have to be realistic,’ he said (via the Daily Mail). “Five weeks ago, our team lost 5-0 against Liverpool — and it could have been a lot more if we are honest.

Fourth place is the minimum requirement of a season. United’s sequence of league fixtures over the next three months is “Kind” for Ralf to make an impression on the united faithful.

    Ralf Rangnick delivers brutal verdict

“Against City, it was 2-0 — but it could also have been more. It was important to win the point at Chelsea but the performance? I don’t know. They had 24 shots on goal and we had three.

Despite the billing of Rangnick and his career achievements, being parachuted in for a six-month Red Adair act is the latest dice-throw from United in the eight years and now six managers since Sir Alex Ferguson retired.
