Queen to call it quits on Buckingham Palace and stay in Windsor Castle
The Metro says the Queen has decided to make Windsor Castle her permanent home and will never fully return to Buckingham Palace, reports say.
It is understood the royal has not spent a night at the palace since March 2020, and has chosen to officially make the castle her main residence, according to the Sunday Times.
She has lived at the central London palace throughout her 70-year reign but spent much of lockdown at her Berkshire home after relocating with Prince Philip at the start of the pandemic.
Sources say the couple ‘rediscovered the happiness of their early years together’ during this time, and it is believed the monarch has come to prefer life in Windsor.
