Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko has confirmed Wagner founder Yevgeny Prigozin’s has arrived in the country.
The Belarusian leader claimed ‘security guarantees have been given’, regarding Progozhin’s arrival in Minsk, similar to those promised by Russian President Vladimir Putin.
‘I see Prigozhin’s been flying aboard this plane – yes, indeed he’s in Belarus today,’ Lukashenko said, adding that he would be staying in the country at Wagner’s expense.
On Saturday, after calling off an apparent mutiny in Russia, Prigozin agreed a deal to move to Belarus.
