Prince Harry popped into Buckingham Palace on his way home after the Coronation – but did not see the Royal Family, it has been reported.
The Duke of Sussex was in and out in the space of half an hour following Saturday’s ceremony at Westminster Abbey, according to The Telegraph.
He is thought to have stopped in for a quiet moment away from the spotlight before being driven on to Heathrow Airport and flying back to the States.
Harry had no formal role in the ceremony, did not join the family for official Coronation portraits and is not known to have spoken to them.
Sources stressed to the newspaper any lack of contact was purely for practical reasons, with the duke eager to get back to wife Meghan and children Archie and Lilibet in the US as soon as possible while other royals were busy with the procession.
Harry arrived at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) at around 7.30pm local time (3.30am UK) to reunite with his son on his birthday.
Archie turned four on Saturday and spent the day with his mother, the Duchess of Sussex, at home.

The duke’s appearance at the coronation marked his first public appearance alongside the royals since he lambasted his family in his controversial memoir Spare.
He was seated in the third row for the crowning of Charles and stepmother Queen Camilla and was placed two rows behind his brother the Prince of Wales.
Harry chatted to his cousin Princess Beatrice and her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi as he entered the church on Saturday in the drizzling UK rain.
He also nodded and smiled to guests as he processed behind them, walking down the nave of the abbey alone.

Charles also raised a glass to Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis who were at the Abbey and the post-ceremony festivities in the royal residence, the Daily Mail reported.
The monarch is said to have toasted ‘those that weren’t there’ and wished his other grandson a very happy birthday ‘wherever he was’.
