Roberto Firmino could make a shock return to the Premier League just six months after he left Liverpool for the Saudi Pro League, according to reports.

The Brazil International bid an emotional farewell to Anfield last summer, having cemented his place as a Liverpool icon over his eight years at the club.

He departed on a free to Saudi side Al Ahli, teaming up with the likes of Riyad Mahrez, Edouard Mendy and Allan Saint-Maximin.

And the forward got off to the perfect start, scoring a hat-trick on his debut and being named club captain.

However, the 32-year-old has failed to find the back of the net since, and this goalless drought has frustrated the club and its fans, while it is said that Firmino himself is unhappy in the Middle East.

To that end, it has been reported that Al Ahli are willing to either sell or loan their skipper out for the rest of the season, and talkSPORT claim that Fulham are one of several Premier League sides who have been offered the chance to sign him.

The Cottagers haven’t had a reliable source of goals since Aleksandar Mitrovic left, though Raul Jimenez’s form has picked up of late.

Sheffield United were also interested in Firmino’s services, though that may have changed with the sacking of Paul Heckingbottom and the return of Chris Wilder.

The Blades are bottom of the table and the league’s lowest scorers, and steps have already been taken to remedy that, with forward Ben Brereton Diaz set to sign from Villarreal.

The identity of the other clubs remains a mystery, though Crystal Palace and West Ham have been loosely linked.

Firmino is the highest scoring Brazilian in Premier League history, and has a total of 111 goals and 79 assists in 362 appearances across all competitions for Liverpool.

With the Reds he won the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup, League Cup and Club World Cup, and was part of a famed front three alongside Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah.

Though the least prolific of the fowards, Firmino was often credited as the glue that held them together – both on and off the pitch.
