Gogglebox star Ellie Warner has revealed she is battling gestational diabetes.
Appearing on the long-running series since 2015 with her sister Izzi, hairdresser Ellie announced she was pregnant with her first child during an episode last year.
In December Ellie, 32, dropped the news during a conversation with her sister in front of the cameras, where she spoke about going for an ultrasound to check up on her baby, who she’s expecting with boyfriend Nat Eddleston.
The happy news also came after her partner was left fighting for his life in a serious car crash earlier in the year.
However, on the latest episode of the series, the couch critic made a fleeting comment about being diagnosed a condition that can cause complications during pregnancy.
While watching The Apprentice, she made a joke about the show’s host Lord Alan Sugar.

‘Alan Sugar is my only sugar fix now I have got gestational diabetes,’ she said.
Although Ellie hasn’t spoken any more about her health publicly during the pregnancy, earlier this month she did share she was going to be having a boy.
What is gestational diabetes?
Gestational diabetes is high blood sugar (glucose) that develops during pregnancy and usually disappears after giving birth.
It can happen at any stage of pregnancy, but is more common in the second or third trimester.
The NHS explains that the condition happens when your body cannot produce enough insulin – a hormone that helps control blood sugar levels – to meet your extra needs in pregnancy.
It can cause problems for mother’s and their baby’s during pregnancy and after birth, but the risks can be reduced if the condition is detected early and well managed.
During an episode of Gogglebox, Ellie was joined by her sister, niece and nephew to make the announcement.
‘Are you going to say hello to the baby boy?’ she asked the children, adding: ‘Do you know that the baby can hear you?’

After her nephew replied that he wasn’t going to introduce himself to his cousin ‘yet’, Ellie then asked him: ‘Are you happy you’re going to have another boy cousin, Bobby?’
He sweetly replied that it’s ‘all he wants’.
‘Better than a girl?’ Ellie laughed, as he agreed.
When speaking about her pregnancy on the show, Ellie had previously joked her unborn child looked like a ‘jelly alien’ on an ultrasound.

She’s not the only cast member to be expecting either, with Pete Sandiford also revealing on air late last year he was about to have his second child.
The two pregnancy announcements were dropped during the same episode, delighting fans with the exciting news.
Gogglebox is streaming on All4.
