The paper also reports that the daughter of murdered MP Sir David Amess is suing the Home Office and Essex Police for failing to stop his killer. Katie Amess, who’s launching a personal injury civil case, says lessons need to be learnt after Ali Harbi Ali stabbed Sir David to death in 2021 in a terrorist attack. The Home Office said significant work had been carried out to protect MPs in the wake of the killing. In a statement to the paper, Essex Police said it couldn’t comment on the case but that the Amess family remained in its thoughts.
