Met’s Partygate probe slammed as allies rally around Boris Johnson
The Sun says THE Met Police’s Partygate probe was branded a “total farce” last night as allies rallied around stricken PM Boris Johnson.
Tory MPs hit out at the force for issuing penalty notice fines “in dribs and drabs” as the investigation drags on for weeks.
Yesterday, the PM was said to be “mortified” over his £50 fine, but he was widely supported by his backbenchers.
The Sun told yesterday how Boris, his wife Carrie, and Chancellor Rishi Sunak were fined for attending a nine-minute gathering for the PM’s 56th birthday — weeks after he nearly died from Covid.
