Nintendo Direct has given players a first proper look at Pokémon Scarlet and Violet’s upcoming expansion called The Hidden Treasure Of Area Zero.
The official trailer for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet’s The Teal Mask and The Indigo Disk expansions, together called The Hidden Treasure Of Area Zero, was shown during today’s Nintendo Direct.
The trailer started with The Teal Mask expansion, which is set to hit the shelves this autumn, while The Indigo Disk is scheduled for a winter release this year.
It looks like The Teal Mask will introduce a roster of new Pokémon, including Okidogi, Munkidori, and Fezandipiti. Although this marks their first in-game appearance, they were officially revealed earlier in the year.
These three Pokémon take on the role of guardians, protecting Kitakami village, which is the setting of The Teal Mask.
Moreover, the trailer revealed another two legendary Pokémon, called Ogerpon and Terapagos, coming with each version of The Hidden Treasure Of Area Zero expansion.
The Pokémon Company has also confirmed the return of fan-favourite Pokémon, including Snorlax, Alcremie, Seel, Ninetails, and over 200 more creatures.

Many of these familiar faces were included in the trailer shown during today’s Nintendo Direct, while others had been previously revealed on the official website.
Both expansions will expand upon the storyline of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. To kickstart The Teal Mask, you must have progressed to the Treasure Hunt chapter in Scarlet and Violet, which should take a few solid hours of gameplay.
As for The Indigo Disk expansion, it will be activated once you’ve completed the game’s main campaign.
The Teal Mask will take you to Kitakami, a region outside of Paldea, while The Indigo Disk is about joining a new school called Blueberry Academy, located under the ocean.
The trailer also gave us a sneak peek of the Terrarium, which looks like a huge park underneath Blueberry Academy which features four distinct biomes.
This Terrarium will house several pokémon, including Blitzle, Zebstrika, Golett, Golurk, Exeggcute, Alolan Exeggutor, Seel, and Dewgong, among others.
With Pokémon Scarlet and Violet hitting the shelves just last November in 2022, The Hidden Treasure Of Area Zero expansion will arrive around a year later, before you even know it.
