The Independent – PM squirms as top Tory doubles down on Islamists’ claims
The Independent reports the prime minister is under fire after declining to call out Lee Anderson’s allegedly Islamophobic comments about London’s mayor Sadiq Khan. The paper says Lee Anderson has refused to apologise for the comments he made, in which he claimed Islamists have control of Sadiq Khan and London.
The front page leads with a large image of singer Charlotte Church who has denied singing an antisemitic song. She sang the song – From The River To The Sea at a fundraising event for Palestine.
