New Foreign Office emails appear to contradict Boris Johnson’s insistence he did not authorise the rescue of cats and dogs from a British charity in Afghanistan, writes The Guardian. But a Number 10 spokesperson said the PM “had no role in authorising individual evacuations from Afghanistan during Operation Pitting, including Nowzad staff and animals”
