Phillip Schofield sensationally signs with Channel 5 for ‘top secret’ new show 16 months after being dumped by ITV
PHILLIP Schofield is making his TV comeback – 16 months after being axed from This Morning.
The 62-year-old broadcaster has secretly filmed a Channel 5 special, Cast Away, which sees him marooned on a tropical island for 10 days.
Phillip will be seen fending for himself on an island off Madagascar, filming himself as he battles for survival – and emotionally discussing his past two years from hell.
Last night a source said: “Over the past few months Phil has had quite a few offers for various things – but has steadfastly turned them all down.
“This sort of challenge has always appealed to him though and after consulting with friends and family, he decided to go for it. It’s all been top secret, and has been an incredibly quick turnaround in order to keep the news quiet.
“After 42 years on telly, Phillip has learnt from some great crews and teams on how to film and tell a story.
Squirming Keir Starmer refuses to apologise to OAPs losing winter fuel payments as he’s grilled by Susanna Reid
SQUIRMING Keir Starmer has refused to apologise to OAP losing their winter fuel payments.
GMB star Susanna Reid grilled the PM following his speech at the Labour Conference in Liverpool.
Susanna asked Sir Keir if he wished to apologise to pensioners for the cuts to winter fuel payments, which he refused to do four times.
Kicking off the interview, Susanna asked how Sir Keir can justify taking away up to £300 from hard-up OAPS.
Sir Keir said: “Well, it’s tough and I think the first thing to say and to explain is why we had to do it.
“We inherited a really damaged economy, we did an audit and we discovered an undisclosed £22 billion black hole this year, which we have to fix.”
