The recent deadly armed carjacking in Florida that claimed the life of Katherine Altagracia Guerrero De Aguasvivas has taken a new turn as investigators make progress in the case. One person of interest has been arrested, while another remains at large.
Jordanish Torres-Garcia, 28, was apprehended by U.S. Marshals Services on an unrelated case, with investigators linking him to a Green Acura involved in the carjacking. The suspect was identified through his Facebook profile picture, which showed him wearing the same outfit as one of the suspects seen in the video of the incident.
The victim, Aguasvivas, was carjacked at a Winter Springs intersection, with the suspects fleeing in a white 2017 Dodge Durango closely followed by the green Acura. Aguasvivas’ body was later found in a burned SUV in Osceola County.
The investigation also revealed a connection to Giovany Joel Crespo Hernandez, a man Aguasvivas may have known. Aguasvivas’s brother discovered Hernandez through an iCloud account, leading to the identification of Hernandez and his girlfriend, Monicsabel Romero Soto, who were found with trafficking amounts of Fentanyl, money, and a firearm during a search warrant execution.
Hernandez remains at large and is wanted on an active warrant for fentanyl trafficking. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is urged to contact authorities.
The case continues to unfold as investigators work to bring justice for Aguasvivas and her family. Stay tuned for updates on this developing story.
