It has been the year of Pedro Pascal, with a legion of fans excited for every new project he announces but this latest rumour could be a miss even for the most dedicated.
The Chilean actor could be joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe with his next move, not shocking for Hollywood heavy hitters nowadays with stars lining up to join the franchise.
However, fans aren’t impressed with the possible casting choice despite many adoring the Last of Us heartthrob.
Speculation has been bubbling around who might play the leader of the heroes, Reed Richardsin yet another Fantastic Four reboot from the studio.
Rumours have surfaced that Pedro, 48, could be set to play Mr Fantastic with Deadline reporting that scheduling is still being worked out but things looked good.
However, it hasn’t had the response from Pedro’s fans that the studio probably expected with the Mandalorian actor’s proven star power.

One fan wrote on X (Twitter): ‘I love Pedro, but man… did they even try?’
‘I think they could get someone else. I would love Pedro Pascal in the MCU. I’m not sure about Reed Richards. I think Pedro could be one of the founding X-men,’ another suggested.
Mr Fantastic is a master of all things scientific – chemistry, physics, even alien biology – as well as having powers of elasticity.
Many excited fans had been casting other actors such as Glenn Howerton, Adam Driver, and Jake Gyllenhaal, who has recently been in the MCU.
John Krasinski was a popular name thrown around to take on the role, as he did in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
The Fantastic Four are one of Marvel’s best loved superhero groups, having first burst onto the silver screen in 2005 before an less than successful reboot in 2015.

2005’s film saw a then unknown actor Chris Evans as the Human Torch, Johnny Storm, alongside Jessica Alba, Ioan Gruffudd, and Michael Chiklis.
Chris would return to the Marvel universe as none other than Captain America six years later, making him a household name.
A fan wrote: ‘I really don’t want this. He comes with too much baggage with all the different huge roles he’s already played.
‘Reed needs to feel new and fresh not some typical Hollywood hotshot it’s too predictable at this point. I’d prefer Diego Luna.’
Even Robert Downey Jr was a risky casting when Iron Man first hit screens so maybe fans are right and pulling in some upcoming talent might be the way to go.
