Patsy Kensit will reprise her role as Emma Harding in EastEnders next week, as part of Lola Pearce’s funeral scenes.
The former Emmerdale star appeared as Emma, Lola’s mum, in the BBC One soap earlier this year, with Billy Mitchell tracking the character down after learning that Lola was terminally ill.
Emma refused to attend her daughter’s wedding, but she was ultimately unable to stay away, showing up to the salon where Lola worked to book appointments under the guise of Nicole.
The truth about her identity later came out in an explosive fashion, with Emma explaining that her reason for leaving all those years ago was because her ex, Lola’s dad, was abusive.
Despite her reservations, Lola agreed to give Emma a chance to be her mum. Emma, at first, did everything to make up for lost time, but as the reality of Lola’s terminal prognosis set in, she started to pull away, before claiming that she needed to move away as part of her work.
Lola, disappointed, ordered Emma out of her life, spending her remaining days with husband Jay Brown (Jamie Northwick) and daughter Lexi (Isabella Brown), passing away in May.

The beloved character is laid to rest next week, with emotional funeral scenes on the cards.
It has also been confirmed that Emma will return for the service, with Patsy reprising her role for the episode in question.
The question is: just how will Lola’s loved ones feel about her presence at the service, given how things ended?

Discussing the scenes in question, a source told the Daily Star: ‘Emma returns to Walford with the intention of saying farewell to her daughter.
‘But when she’s asked to join the service at the funeral, she gets tearful. It’s an incredibly tough moment and she’s not sure she’s strong enough to do it.’
EastEnders airs these scenes w/c Monday June 26 at 7:30pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
