Paris Hilton upset over Pink parodying her sex tape for infamous Stupid Girls music video

Paris Hilton has reflected on Pink parodying her sex tape in the music video for Stupid Girls, explaining that it was a painful time.

The Simple Life star made headlines around the world after the intimate footage that she had recorded with her ex-boyfriend, Rick Salomon, was leaked and shared without her consent, in 2003.

Pink famously parodied the video in her 2006 video for Stupid Girls, something that left the new mom upset at the time.

In her new memoir, the 42-year-old explained that she doesn’t ‘remember that much’ about the night in question, and said that she felt pressure to go through with it – before the clip was ‘released and monetized against’ her will.

Detailing the music video in the pages of her book, obtained by Us Weekly, she said: ‘The world thinks of me as a sex symbol, and I’m here for that, because “symbol” literally means “icon”.

‘But when people saw that sex tape, they didn’t say “icon,” they said “s**t.” They said “w***e”. And they weren’t shy about it.

‘The whole video [Stupid Girls] is a not-at-all-subtle send-up of “porno paparazzi girls” in general and, specifically, me, in a parody of my infamous sex tape.

‘Pink sang about “outcasts and girls with ambition” and said, “That’s what I want to see”. But she chose not to see it in me.’

Paris insisted that she is not ‘mad’ at the musician, who she reportedly described as ‘brilliant’, but was being ‘honest’ in her reflection.

‘There’s no Pink-Paris feud,’ she added. ‘That’s not a thing. I have the attention span of a gnat, which means I suck at holding grudges. Anyway, anger doesn’t help; honesty does. So, I’m being honest right now.’

Pink, real name Alecia Moore, has yet to speak publicly over the Stars Are Blind musician’s comments.

The Grammy-winner has recently made headlines after comments surrounding her ‘feud’ with Christina Aguilera, after being questioned about their collaboration on Lady Marmalade, in 2001 – alongside Lil Kim, Mya and Missy Elliott.

In an interview for her new album, Trustfall, Pink was asked about the iconic banger, and admitted that the video was ‘not very fun to make’.

She was later forced to clarify her comments in a lengthy statement on Instagram, calling out the reaction from everyone.

‘I’m so saddened and disappointed by the narrative surrounding some of the press I’ve been doing around my album Trustfall,’ Pink began.

‘While some of the responsibility lays with me and my inability to lie, and my uncanny ability to overshare – my real disappointment lies in the fact that the art can never be the focus when you’re a woman.

‘The fact that I created one of the most beautiful albums with the most beautiful people – sang my ass off, made myself wholly vulnerable – 11 albums in, selling out stadiums, raising good kids, steadily employing hundreds of good, hardworking people, the only thing they ask you about over and over is a silly feud from your twenties.

‘I take responsibility also – I’m out of practice dodging the bulls**t that gets thrown at us hardworking women. I’m notorious for saying too much. But I’ve never lied. And for every one or two women I’ve had issue with – there are hundreds that I’ve complimented and supported and loved on. But we don’t talk about that.

‘I wonder when the last time Bradley Cooper or Robert DeNiro were asked in interview after interview about any argument they’d ever had. How about Christian Bale? We stick to the art with them, don’t we? I’d like to have the same opportunity.

‘I also believe in authentic apology – and owning your mistakes. I should say less. Every time. Say less. Something I’m working on. This was a good reminder.

‘My wish is to share the pains and the celebrations of this messy life through music and on stage. And I’ve accomplished that. Incredibly and consistently.’

Addressing the Fighter singer, she concluded: ‘To Christina – you know where we stand. Resolved. Onwards and upwards. And thank you all for listening – and for the 25 years of kick ass love and support. Peace.’
