The attack targeted a train carrying around 440 passengers, and before the military operation began, the militants killed 21 civilians and four soldiers. During the rescue, 33 militants were killed, but the total number of unaccounted passengers remains unclear. The army continues search operations in the area to eliminate any remaining threats.
