One killed in Ukraine drone attacks on Russia
Russian officials claim they intercepted 144 Ukrainian drones in a wave of overnight attacks that resulted in one death and disrupted flights in Moscow. The attacks caused fires in residential buildings in Ramenskoye, where a 46-year-old woman died, and three others were injured. Over 40 residents were evacuated to temporary shelters.
Russia’s defence ministry stated that many of the drones targeted the western Bryansk region, with others hitting Moscow and Kursk. The strikes temporarily shut down four airports in Moscow, causing flight suspensions. By Tuesday morning, Russia’s aviation authority, Rosaviatsia, confirmed that three airports had resumed operations.
Ukraine has yet to comment on the incident.
