Novak Djokovic unleashes angry outburst at umpire in one of the most shocking defeats of his entire career
Novak Djokovic unleashed an angry outburst at an Indian Wells umpire as he suffered one of the most shocking defeats of his entire career on Tuesday.
The 24-time Grand Slam winner and world No.1 crashed out in the third round of the prestigious event in California to 20-year-old Italian world No.123 Luca Nardi, who said afterwards that he still has pictures of Djokovic on his bedroom walls.
Djokovic’s defeat has sent shockwaves across tennis, with Nardi putting his hands over his face in disbelief after securing the famous victory, which has seen him become the first Lucky Loser to ever beat the 36-year-old legend.
Nardi has also become the lowest-ranked player to beat Djokovic in a Grand Slam or ATP Masters 1000 level event and it is the first time the Serbian has lost to a player ranked outside of the world top 50 in six years.
