Novak Djokovic conspiracy theory shut down despite ‘mysteries’ ahead of US Open title defence
Online conspiracy theories over Novak Djokovic’s knee surgery have been shut down by his former coach Nikola Pilic ahead of the 2024 US Open.
Djokovic tore the medial meniscus in his right knee during the win over Francisco Cerundolo at the French Open in June, which forced him to go under the knife.
There were suggestions that the knee surgery would rule Djokovic, 37, out of Wimbledon, but he played the Championships and went all the way to the final.
Djokovic then made the tricky transition back to the clay surface – which was another huge injury risk – to play the Olympics, where he clinched singles gold.
