Noni Madueke has told Chelsea supporters that Levi Colwill is returning to the club this summer.
The Chelsea duo were part of England’s success at the Under-21 European Championship as they beat Spain in the final on Saturday evening.
Colwill, meanwhile, has been the subject of intense speculation over his future in recent weeks with Brighton, Liverpool and Manchester City all showing interest in the 20-year-old.
The centre-back impressed during his loan spell at Brighton last season and the club have already seen their £30 million bid rejected by Chelsea this summer.
Colwill is yet to sign Chelsea’s offer of a new contract as he waits to see how he fits into Mauricio Pochettino’s plans for the upcoming campaign.
But Madueke is adamant that his Chelsea teammate is going nowhere this summer.
During England’s celebrations on the pitch after their Under-21 Euro final win over Spain, Colwill approached Madueke and asked: ‘What have you got to say, brother?’
Madueke replied: ‘Hey, listen, we’re both coming back. He [Colwill] is as well.
‘Listen, hey, I’ll make sure he comes back, you get?’
Colwill then smiled and walked away from Madueke saying: ‘This guy.’
