Noel Gallagher has opened up about the reasons for his divorce after announcing his split from Sara MacDonald.
The Oasis star, 56, and Sara, 51, were married for 12 years before confirming in January that they have parted ways.
Noel has now revealed that their relationship started to collapse during the Covid-19 lockdown as they simply ‘grew tired of each other’.
The High Flying Birds star – who has sons Donovan, 15, and Sonny, 12 with Sara – also claimed his ex became ‘furious’ about his constant partying.
In a new interview, he said: ‘It’s not uncommon for people to get to their fifties and go, well, you know…’
He went on to suggest to Ireland’s Hot Press magazine that his relentless touring schedule drove a wedge between him and his wife.

Noel explained that he’s spent ‘four years on the road’, which contributed to their separation.
The singer added that his misery was only heightened when he contracted Covid not once, but twice.
‘The silver lining to a very dark cloud being that I actually had some f*****g time off during Covid,’ he said.
‘Although I f*****g hated lockdown, I got to finish off all these songs that I’d half-written and write a load of new ones.
‘Felt fairly s***e both times, but thankfully no complications.’
Noel’s comments come after he remarked that his divorce was the result of a ‘midlife crisis’.

In quotes obtained by The Sun, he explained: ‘When you get to your mid-fifties, you do come to some kind of crossroads in your life.
‘It’s not uncommon for people who have been in long-term relationships to go their separate ways in their fifties.
‘I know a lot of people in the same boat as me and Sara.
‘Particularly after the pandemic.’
‘The midlife crisis thing is true for men and women,’ he stated.
When their split was announced publicly, it was assured that Noel and Sara were focusing on co-parenting their children.

Representatives said in a statement: ‘Noel and Sara will together continue to look after their children who remain their priority.
‘Noel and Sara ask the media to respect their privacy and that of our family at this time.’
