Noel Fielding might be an eccentric figure on-screen but away from the lens, he’s just a regular fun dad according to his partner Lliana Bird.
The pair began dating in 2010, welcoming their first daughter, Dali, in 2018, and their second, Iggy, in 2020.
During a recent appearance on the Happy Mum Happy Baby with Giovanna Fletcher, Lliana got real about the highs and lows of parenthood – from breastfeeding to embracing the chaos – while praising Noel for his parenting abilities.
Reminiscing about the births of her children and becoming a parent, Lliana, 42, spoke about how ‘magical’ a father Noel, 50, had become since welcoming their daughters.
‘He kind of makes the silliest little moments, he makes having breakfast a real moment,’ she said.
‘I think I’ve just really leaned into that and just going like, “This is amazing. We’re getting to have porridge and it’s funny, and it’s fun. And we’re wearing silly hats, and we’re dancing. And that’s okay.”‘

‘Maybe someone else’s kids are going to have a few more spoonfuls of porridge because it’s going to be quicker, they’re eating it properly, and digesting it properly. But, you know, my kids are having a lot of fun.’
She also shared Noel’s adorable reaction to her going into labour, as she watched Netflix reality hit Queer Eye to get her through the contractions.
‘I had done all this like hypnotherapy and you know, got my TENS machine and I was all like Mother Earth. And then it came to the contractions and I was like, I just want to throw the TENS machine across the room and watch Queer Eye,’ she laughed.
‘I basically watched Queer Eye for about 10 hours. I went into labour, [Noel] and I were going to bed and it was about 11 o’clock, so, he was asleep.
‘I had a contraction, and I was like, “I got this I’m going to be fine”‘.

She said that after six hours of this, Noel came to her to ask her why she was ‘mooing’.
‘I was just sat there with my laptop, kind of making very loud mooing noises and I was like, “No it’s a really good episode”. Tan has just told them that they found this amazing outfit,’ she continued.
‘He was like, “Okay, put the laptop down. We’re getting a taxi. We’re going to the hospital”‘.
She said she asked Noel if she could bring the laptop with them to continue her TV binge through labour, and that he agreed. She delighted in saying that she later met host Tan France and told him that he had ‘been with her during labour’.
