Today’s news summary – Paper Talk

Many of Tuesday’s front pages lead with the latest comments from ex-PM aide Dominic Cummings – who claims the PM knew ahead of time about the parties and he had been warned about having parties in lockdown. No 10 has issued a blanket denial of Dominic Cummings’ allegations claiming they are “untrue.”

The Daily Express says urgent action is needed to prevent a looming cost-of-living crisis for millions as fuel bills could double.

Dominic Cummings has accused Boris Johnson of lying to parliament over a party in the No 10 garden, the Sun reports.

The Guardian quotes Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer accusing Boris Johnson of attacking the BBC to save himself.

The Daily Mirror quotes Dominic Cummings, Boris Johnson’s former chief aide, saying the Prime Minister “waved aside” objections to the No 10 party held in May 2020.

Dominic Cummings, Boris Johnson’s former chief aide, has insisted the Prime Minister lied about what he knew about a party in the garden of No 10 and has said he and other witnesses will swear “under oath”, the Metro says.

The Independent reports on the PM’s ‘rushed’ plans for the Navy to police migrant channel boats – the move from the government has been labelled an attempt to ‘distract’ from the ongoing No 10 scandals.
