Richest Americans, including Jeff Bezos and Elon Musk, avoided billions in tax, leak reveals
The Times says Jeff Bezos paid no income tax in 2007 and 2011, and George Soros went three years in a row without paying the Internal Revenue Service, according to a leak of personal tax records from the wealthiest 25 Americans.
Bezos, 57, the Amazon founder who is the world’s richest man, was able to offset his earnings using legitimate tax methods in a year when his fortune leapt by $3.8 billion, according to ProPublica, the investigative journalism group that received the leak.
