    Six-year-old girl arrested at Florida school

    BBC News reports police bodycam footage that was released on 25 February shows the moment a visibly distressed child was arrested at her school in Orlando, Florida in September 2019. child, 6 arrested at florida school

    The six-year-old girl was restrained with zip ties and escorted to a waiting police car after misbehaving in class. 

    The person whose bodycam captured the ordeal was fired after an internal investigation by the Orlando Police Department. Officer Dennis Turner had not followed the correct protocol, which states that a police officer must have their supervisor’s approval to arrest any child under the age of 12.

    17 dead, 150 injured in New Dehli clash

    CNN says at least 17 people have been killed in violent communal clashes in the Indian capital between supporters and opponents to a new law that fast-tracks citizenship for non-Muslim minorities from selected countries. new dehli riots

    The violence coincided with a visit to India by US President Trump. 

    Authorities used tear gas as protesters threw stones, damaged property and set numerous vehicles and a gasoline pump on fire, according to police – as the unrest stretched into its second day. 

    On Wednesday morning, Arvind Kejriwal, Dehli’s highest elected official, tweeted that police were “unable to control [the] situation and instil confidence” despite ongoing efforts overnight. He has requested that the military be called in and a curfew imposed in affected areas.

    France reports its first citizen to die from the coronavirus as three new cases are confirmed

    France24 says a 60-year-old man has become the first French victim of the coronavirus in the country, the health first french citizen dies from coronavirusministry announced Wednesday. 

    He died overnight after being rushed to a Paris hospital in serious condition on Tuesday evening, bring the total death toll in the country to two, said the ministry’s deputy head, Jerome Salomon.

    Assange lawyer brings up claim the US mulled ‘kidnapping and poisoning’ of Assange – here’s what we know

    RT News says the US government plotted to kidnap or kill Julian Assange whilst he was holed up at the Ecuadorian embassy in London, a UK court was told yesterday. crowds gather in london for julian assange

    Assange’s lawyer Edward Fitzgerald told Vanessa Baraitser that the US intelligence agencies worked with Spanish company UC Global to extensively spy on Assange inside the embassy. 

    Fitzgerald claimed that recordings were collected every 14 days and handed over to US intelligence services. The footage included Assange meeting with his legal team, breaching attorney-client privilege, he said.

    “There were conversations about whether there should be more extreme measures contemplated, such as kidnapping or poisoning Assange in the embassy,” Fitzgerald told the court.

    In a post on her Instagram account, the Welsh singer added that her “recovery took time.”

    It is not clear where or when the ordeal took place. 

    She wrote in her post on Tuesday: “You can only imagine the amount of times I thought about writing this. The way I would write it, how I would feel thereafter.

    “Well, not entirely sure why now is the right time, and what it that feels exciting and liberating for me to talk.”
