Boris Johnson to announce Covid-19 plan to ‘live with the virus’ including extending lateral flow tests
The i says Boris Johnson will announce a winter Covid-19 plan to “live with the virus” on Tuesday – including by extending the offer of free rapid home tests past its planned expiry date.
The Prime Minister will point to the rollout of vaccines to under-16s as well as the decision to offer booster jabs to the most vulnerable which is almost certain to be confirmed.
Speaking at a press conference alongside the chief medical officer and chief scientific adviser, Mr Johnson will warn that tougher restrictions may be introduced later this year if Covid-19 cases and hospitalisations increase, as revealed by i last week.
