All the new Covid rule changes from today – what you can and can’t do
The Daily Mirror says Boris Johnson has announced a string of new Covid rules in England in a bid to tackle the Omicron variant – which is already thought to be spreading in the community.
All adults will get fast-tracked booster vaccines, face masks will be mandatory in shops and on public transport, and travel rules to the UK have been tightened up.
The rules went into effect Monday and Tuesday, with all close contacts of Omicron cases also having to isolate for 10 days.
But the Prime Minister has been accused of not going far enough, with Labour and the governments of Scotland and Wales saying he must do more to safeguard against the variant.
