Just 1 in 200 amber list travellers have virus

The Times says fewer than one in 200 people from countries on the UK’s amber list is testing positive for covid when they return. The paper quotes Tory MPs and travel experts as saying the border rules are too strict, and travellers with both jabs should be exempt from self-isolation. The paper says that ministers could announce a policy exempting vaccinated passengers from the rules as early as next Monday when the UK’s traffic light system is set to be reviewed.
