Snowpiercer fans, it sounds like good news! The show might get a green;light for the final season. Netflix will be monitoring the response online, and if the demand is there, then the show will go on!
The final instalment of beloved Netflix series Snowpiercer could still see the light of day, insists one of its actors.
It was announced in January that the dystopian thriller had been canned after filming had finished, and wouldn’t even make it to air.
At the time, a network spokesperson said: ‘We can confirm that TNT will not air season four of Snowpiercer.
‘This was a difficult decision, but our admiration for the talented writers, actors and crew who brought Snowpiercer’s extraordinary post-apocalyptic world to life remains strong.’
The statement continued, according to Deadline: ‘We have been working collaboratively with the producers since last year to help the series find a new home where fans can continue to enjoy the compelling story and exceptional visual experience. We look forward to working with them on future projects.’
However, Sam Roche actor Mike O’Malley has vowed viewers will be able to see the completed fourth and final season ‘somewhere’.
While he admitted he’s ‘trying to get an answer’ on when season four might air, O’Malley assured: ‘But that entire fourth season is in the can and that’s going to end up somewhere.’
When asked if season four was written as the final, he continued to TV Line: ‘We were actually hoping that we’d keep going, but I think there’s an ending to that where it could be the end, and it’s very hopeful…
‘So I really, really can’t wait for that show to get out there and for people to see it, because it’s awesome.’

Based both on the 2013 film of the same name, directed by Parasite’s Bong Joon-ho, and the 1982 French graphic novel Le Transperceneige, the first season of Snowpiercer premiered on Netflix in 2020.
It followed the passengers of the gigantic, perpetually moving train of the same name that circled the globe carrying the remnants of humanity seven years after the world becomes a frozen wasteland, and starred Jennifer Connelly and Daveed Diggs.
When the axe was announced, Tomorrow Studios chief executive Marty Adelstein and president Becky Clements said they would be looking for alternative ways to get the final season to screen.’
‘We love Snowpiercer and believe season four completes a story with incredible talent that will entertain viewers while exploring issues of climate change and class warfare,’ they said.
The execs added that they are ‘so passionate about this series’ that they have ‘acquired the rights to control the franchise,’ and hoped to source the ‘perfect partner shortly and finish a great ride with the final season.’
Seasons one to three of Snowpiercer are available to watch on Netflix.
We’ll keep our fingers crossed!
