Luxury bakery Posies & Sugar, which is reportedly being used by Prince Harry for Meghan Markle’s birthday, specialises in ‘naked’ cakes which is a style in which some of the layers are visible underneath the icing
According to reports, Prince Harry bought a birthday cake for Meghan Markle’s 40th birthday from a bespoke bakery that costs more than £160.
The Duchess of Sussex is planned a quiet celebration for her birthday on Wednesday at the £11 million California mansion she shares with Prince Harry.
Colin Cowie, a famous person party designer, is said to be organizing the event, which will include an unique cake from Santa Barbara bakery Posies & Sugar.
The luxury bakery is known for its “naked” cakes, which have some of the cake’s layers visible under the icing and are decorated with colorful fresh flowers exterior.
According to the baker’s website, the company was started in 2017 by Heather and her husband Matt in Heather’s Santa Barbara kitchen.
The website reads, “I believe that the beauty in life is worth celebrating, worth flinging confetti in the air over, and worth eating a slice of cake (or two).”
“I believe in flowers and in being kind to ourselves and in simple, good things like peach pie.”
According to a price list on the site, a three-tiered masterpiece, serving up to 30 guests, costs $225 (£160).
An anonymous source told the Tatler the Duchess recruited the services of Colin Cowie after hearing about him from Oprah Winfrey, a close friend of Meghan’s.
Following their ground-breaking interview earlier this year, Winfrey, Meghan, and Prince Harry are said to have become close friends, with the famed talk show host expected to attend the upcoming birthday celebrations.
Meghan was hoping for a small celebration, with a guest list of around 65 people, according to a source who spoke to the Mail Online.
Her closest friends and relatives were expected to attend, with her mother Doria Ragland also expected to be among the guests.
Her birthdays are set to be low-key in contrast to her extravagant £330,000 baby shower in New York in preparation for Archie’s arrival in 2019.
Meghan was criticized for her baby shower after it was discovered that she was traveling on Amal and George Clooney’s £33 million private plane and chaperoning her A-list friends about New York.
Tennis champion Serena Williams, TV anchor Gayle King, actress Amal Clooney, and closest friend Jessica Mulroney were all seen arriving at the hotel’s front entrance for the Duchess’s party in the £60,000-per-night penthouse suite.
During the shower, Meghan left the hotel from the side exit and got into a State Department car and drove for dinner with her friends.
She then asked to change the route to the restaurant in a bid to avoid the cameras but the details of her trip were leaked, it is stated in the report.
She was photographed going in and leaving the restaurant.
