Musk turns on Farage & Cold snap bites Britain
Domestic news dominates Monday’s front pages as the recent cold snap that hit Britain has caused widespread travel chaos. Heavy snowfall and ice brought much of the UK to a standstill over the weekend and it will likely continue to disrupt into the week.
Several papers focus on the ongoing spat between American billionaire Elon Musk and Reform leader Nigel Farage as the foreign tech entrepreneur continues to wade into British politics. The newspapers reacted with shock over Musk’s recent U-turn against Farage after the leader rejected Musk’s calls to free Tommy Robinson.

‘Musk turns on Farage over Tommy Robinson,’ reports the Telegraph.
The Daily Telegraph says Musk – a key ally of Donald Trump – turned on Farage on Sunday over their opposing stances on far-right activist Tommy Robinson.
‘Musk backs Rupert Lowe to replace Farage,’ highlights The Guardian.
The Guardian says Musk lent his endorsement to Rupert Lowe, the Great Yarmouth MP, suggesting he replaces Farage. But Lowe, amongst other Reform politicians, has rejected Musk’s calls for Nigel Farage to be replaced as leader.

The Times notes the unexpected tweet from Musk suggesting Farage “doesn’t have what it takes” was a “dramatic collapse of their relationship,” the paper writes.
The Daily Express features an image of the pair only three weeks prior – during a meeting at Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home.
‘Musk has been posting on social media about UK politics since Labour was elected in July,’ reports the FT.
The FT reports “Reforms courtship of Musk” has turned sour amid speculation that Elon Musk was set to donate millions to the party. The paper reports he has “repeatedly posted on social media about UK politics since Labour was elected in July.”

Cold snap bites Britain
‘Roads closed and major airports shut, says The Independent.
The Independent front page features a large image of lorries driving in the snow, noting several key roads were shut and some major airports had to close their runways causing widespread disruption.
The Telegraph and The Guardian both use the same picture – a small boy enjoying a sledge ride down a hill in the snow.

The Daily Star says the “sickies will double” on Monday with “a million workers shirking off the office because of snow and ice.”
