Social media mob drives Mumford & Sons star Winston Marshall out of band
The Times says for the musician Winston Marshall, abusive comments came with the territory. As he put it himself, he is a banjo player after all. However, nothing prepared the Mumford & Sons star for the backlash that followed an “innocuous” tweet in praise of a book.
Marshall’s troubles began in March when he posted a message to Andy Ngo, 35, the conservative author of Unmasked: Inside Antifa’s Radical Plan to Destroy Democracy. “Congratulations . . . Finally had the time to read your important book. You’re a brave man,” he wrote.
