Details for the first Pokémon Scarlet & Violet expansion have managed to leak, spoiling new forms for certain pokémon.
Aside from adding a bunch of returning pokémon, the upcoming DLC expansions for Pokémon Scarlet & Violet are set to introduce heaps of new pokémon, plus new forms for already existing ones.
Several of these have been shown off already (like a new evolution for Duraludon that resembles a bridge), but it wouldn’t be surprising if The Pokémon Company had a few more tucked up its sleeve.
In fact, it seems at least two more unannounced pokémon have managed to leak online, along with spoilers for the brand-new pokémon Ogerpon, the mascot of the Teal Mask expansion.
At the time of writing, it’s unclear precisely how this information has leaked or where it came from. However, it includes what appear to be very legitimate looking renders and never before seen in-game screenshots. If these are fake, then they’re incredibly good ones.
Given the nature of these leaks, we advise anyone wishing to experience the DLC as spoiler-free as possible to avoid reading any further. If you wish to learn more, feel free to scroll past the image below.
Pokémon Scarlet & Violet – some details have been officially shared about these three though their typings are still a mystery (Picture: The Pokémon Company)
CentroLeaks, a Twitter account dedicated to Pokémon related news and leaks, has compiled all the newly leaked info, but we will be focusing on the new pokémon.
The first one is called Sinistcha and appears to be either an evolved form or pre-evolution of Poltchageist, which was officially revealed last week.
Given Poltchageist is meant to be a similar species as the Spiritea/Polteageist line from Pokémon Sword & Shield, it was probably safe to assume that it would evolve from or into something else.
The second leak is a new form for Ursaluna, an evolution of Ursaring which debuted in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, dubbed the Blood Moon form.
In this form, the yellow moon symbol on Ursaluna’s forehead turns red and it stands up on its hind legs. Half its face also becomes caked in mud and it almost looks as if it only has one eye (it doesn’t; the left eye just turns black).
Precisely how this form is obtained isn’t known, but CentroLeaks suspects that Ursaring can’t evolve into it naturally and you need to encounter the Blood Moon form in the wild.
The final leak is related to Ogerpon, which has so far only been seen wearing a mask to cover its face. Apparently, it only ever wears it during the story and, once caught, it removes the mask to show its face.
It also seems to come with three different forms that slightly change its colour and give it a unique mask to hold. The implication is that these change its typing, but how these are obtained is a mystery.
