Ministers refuse to back Boris Johnson over Chris Pincher scandal as No 10 admits PM knew of allegations
The i says SOME MINISTERS and aides have been unwilling to toe the No 10 line over the Prime Minister’s handling of the Chris Pincher affair, amid a slew of allegations against the former deputy chief whip stretching back years, amid a breakdown in collective discipline down over the scandal.
It comes as Downing Street was forced to admit that Boris Johnson was aware that Chris Pincher had been accused of sexual misconduct when he was given a government job.
Cabinet minister Simon Hart was one of those allowed by government aides to depart from the Downing Street line in an interview on Friday morning, when he suggested Mr Pincher should be stripped of the Conservative whip hours before the Prime Minister decided to take that action.
