Mikel Arteta ready to let Arsenal star Jakub Kiwior leave in January amid AC Milan interest

AC Milan hope to sign Jakub Kiwior in the January transfer window as Mikel Arteta is open to letting the defender leave the club.

The Pole joined Arsenal last January in a £25m deal but he’s failed to break into the first team.

Kiwior started in the 4-3 win against Luton on Wednesday night but failed to impress and was hooked with 20 minutes to go.

Arsenal have injuries in defence with Takehiro Tomiyasu out for a prolonged period with a calf injury and Jurrien Timber out until March.

But the Gunners need to raise funds in order to reinvest in the January window, and Arteta feels Kiwior is dispensable.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport in Italy, AC Milan have identified Kiwior as a priority target ahead of the window opening on January 2nd.

While Milan would prefer a permanent deal, they are open to a loan deal with an obligation to buy.

The report claims Arteta will not ‘block’ Kiwior’s departure if a deal can be arranged.

Kiwior has managed just 478 minutes across all competitions this season and is unhappy with his playing time in north London.
