Michael Edwards accepts offer to return to Liverpool and will appoint Bournemouth’s Richard Hughes as new sporting director
Michael Edwards will head up Liverpool’s post-Jurgen Klopp era after accepting an offer to return to the club.
Edwards left Anfield two years ago, when he abruptly quit as sporting director.
He was unhappy with his role at the club, and felt he needed more control in order to influence the Reds.
Edwards spent a decade at Anfield until his departure in 2022, and he played a pivotal role in signing the likes of Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk.
