Giovanni Pernice’s ex-Strictly partner Ranvir Singh makes rare comments after BBC investigation verdict
Ranvir Singh has expressed her feelings following the conclusion of the BBC’s investigation into Giovanni Pernice.
She has experience of Pernice’s teaching as the two were paired together on the 2020 series. Now, in rare comments, the 47-year-old has said she is glad that Amanda Abbington received an apology.
While appearing on Good Morning Britain, she was asked by Susanna Reid what she thought of the conclusion and Singh made her opinion crystal clear.
‘I was pleased yesterday to see that the BBC investigation had concluded – it had been going on for some time – and that it ended with an apology to Amanda. I was pleased to see that,’ she shared.
Mass evacuation of British citizens after Israel launches ground assaults
The UK government has chartered a flight to get British people out of Lebanon after the Israeli military started ‘limited’ ground raids against Hezbollah.
Foreign Secretary David Lammy described the situation as ‘volatile’ and with the ‘potential to deteriorate quickly’ as the flight was confirmed.
It’s due to leave Beirut-Rafic Hariri International Airport on Wednesday, and Lammy said the government will do ‘all that we can’ to help Britons flee the country.
British nationals and their spouses, partners and children under 18 are eligible for the UK flight. Those who are vulnerable will be prioritised.
Today’s news summary – Paper Talk
If you are someone who reads every perspective of a story, here is a news summary of all of today’s front pages from today’s newspapers; summarised in a 2-minute read
Editorial 01 October 2024.
Tuesday’s front pages are dominated by two polar opposite stories: Israel’s ground invasion of Lebanon and the Strictly Come Dancing bullying report.
The Strictly Come Dancing report leads many of the tabloid newspapers after a report was issued – and an apology from the BBC – into bullying allegations on the hit TV show. In 2023 Amanda Abbington put in a formal complaint against her Strictly dance partner Giovanni Pernice.
The report found some of her complaints to be true, but Pernice has been cleared of the most serious allegations. Complaints of verbal bullying and harassment were upheld, but claims of physical aggression were not.
Israel’s ground invasion of Lebanon makes up the rest of the UK front pages this morning, as editors speculate as to whether this is the start of an all-out regional war.
