Harry and Meghan’s Spotify deal has ended after the Duchess of Sussex’s podcast was dropped after one season.
The couple signed a lucrative deal with the audio streaming giant to host and produce podcasts, estimated to be worth around 25 million US dollars (£18 million), in late 2020.
But the podcast reportedly did not produce enough content to merit the full payout.
The parting of the ways was confirmed in a joint statement from Archewell Audio, Harry and Meghan’s content creation label, and Spotify.
It said: ‘Spotify and Archewell Audio have mutually agreed to part ways and are proud of the series we made together.’
An Archewell Productions spokeswoman told the Wall Street Journal: ‘Meghan is continuing to develop more content for the Archetypes audience on another platform.’
