Meghan Markle found herself unable to attend a glitzy Los Angeles event where Prince Harry was honoured as a “living legend of aviation” on Friday night due to one of their children being “unwell”.
The Duke of Sussex, aged 39, graced the stage at the Beverly Hills Hilton to accept his award from actor John Travolta. However, his wife, the Duchess of Sussex, who was anticipated to be present, was notably absent.
It has been revealed that Meghan, aged 42, had to miss the occasion due to one of their children falling ill, as reported by the PA news agency.
The couple reside in Montecito, California, along with their two children, four-year-old Prince Archie and two-year-old Princess Lilibet.
The specific child facing health issues was not disclosed.

Despite Meghan’s absence, Prince Harry exuded high spirits on Friday as he shared the stage with Prince Mario-Max Schaumburg-Lippe, a 46-year-old minor German royal and cousin to the outgoing Queen of Denmark, Margrethe II.
There was also other notable figures at the awards ceremony.
Accepting the award from Travolta, the 39-year-old said: “I was just a one-year-old when you danced with my mum at the White House and now look at us.”
He added: “The only thing left to do is… not dance together but fly together.”
