McDonald’s fans could win some exciting prizes in January, including money, a holiday worth £3,500, or Merlin Annual Passes.

And getting your hands on these goodies couldn’t be easier, as all you have to do is purchase some fries through the McDonald’s App.

    Yes, really.

This ‘Fry-anuary’, customers who are signed up to MyMcDonald’s Rewards via the McDonald’s App just need to purchase Medium or Large fries four times within the month of January.

As well as being entered into a prize draw to win, these purchases will also earn you 4,000 reward points, which is the equivalent of a Big Mac.

Extra Value Meals are included in this Fry-anuary promotion and there are almost 25,000 prizes up for grabs in total.

If you’re not already signed up to MyMcDonald’s Rewards, you’ll want to do so ASAP to be in with a chance of winning.

But, you’ll also be able to nab some other great rewards through this scheme when you reach various milestones on the app.

For instance, when customers reach 1,500 reward points, they can choose between menu items including small Fries, a Hash Brown, a regular Cold Soft Drink or a Side Salad for free.

With 2,500 points you get a free Double Cheeseburger, Vegetable Deluxe or Apple Pie and when you hit 4,000 points, customers can choose between menu favourites like 6 Chicken McNuggets, a Big Mac or Filet-O-Fish.

McDonald’s revealed the Fry-anuary prizes to Metro.co.uk. They include:

Jet2holidays Holiday to the value of £3,500 plus £1,500 spending money (3 up for grabs)
£50 Cash (200 up for grabs)
£20 Cash (2,000 up for grabs)
£10 Cash (5,000 up for grabs)
Private Cinema Screening for up to 50 friends at a Cineworld cinema (50 up for grabs)
Merlin Annual Pass For Four (250 up for grabs)
£100 Prezzee eGift Card (250 up for grabs)
£50 Prezzee eGift Card (1,000 up for grabs)
Family Cinema Pass for a family of 4 (12,500 up for grabs)
£20 Prezzee eGift Card (3,000 up for grabs)

The ultimate milestone you can achieve is a whopping 5,500 points which gets you either a Mighty McMuffin, a McSpicy, a Double Quarter Pounder with Cheese or a McCrispy.

But if you don’t feel like you need the extra food, there’s also an option for customers to donate the cash equivalent of their points to BBC Children in Need, FareShare and Ronald McDonald House Charities to support the company’s commitment to funding and supporting youth work, alongside reducing food poverty and waste in the UK.

The Fry-anuary promotion is available to MyMcDonald’s Rewards customers exclusively and customers can start earning points on all orders by downloading via Google Play or the Apple App Store here.

And those heading to McDonald’s this week will be able to enjoy the new menu items, which launch on January 4.

Five ‘all-time favourites’ are returning, including the Steakhouse Stack, which Maccies customers previously dubbed the ‘best burger they’ve ever produced’.

The burger, which was first introduced in March 2023, will cost £5.49 and once again features two British and Irish beef patties, a slice of cheese, crispy onions, red onions, lettuce, and black peppercorn sauce in a toasted glazed sesame topped bun.

As well as this, McDonald’s fans will also be able to order the Fajita Chicken Wrap (£3.69), Cheesy Garlic Bites (£2.59), Cadbury Dairy Milk McFlurry and Cadbury Caramel McFlurry (£1.99 for full size and £1.49 for mini).

It’s not clear yet how long the new menu will be available for, but typically these drops only last a few weeks, so you’d better be speedy if you want to try them.
