The announcement of the McDonald’s summer menu will be bad news for some, as a fan favourite is set to get the chop.

The Garlic Wrap is being axed from the menu to make way for an array of new items, as well as some new Saver Meal Deals to help you get the most for your money.

As of Wednesday June 21, you’ll no longer be able to get hold of the garlicky wrap – but hopefully its replacement will hit the spot.

In its place is the Caesar and Bacon Wrap, priced at £5.19 and featuring grilled or breaded chicken alongside creamy caesar dressing, crispy onions, bacon and lettuce in a classic soft tortilla wrap.

The launch will also include Mozzarella Bites, which are similar to McDonald’s Dippers (and come with the same Tangy Tomato Dip) but in smaller ‘bitesize’ format. A single portion of these will set you back £2.29, while a 20-piece share box costs £6.29.

Perhaps the most exciting new menu items are on the sweeter side, though.

It’s been hyped up for a while, but the Lotus Biscoff McFlurry has officially been confirmed by the fast food chain.

Pieces of the much-loved biscuit will be swirled with soft serve McFlurry ice cream, with a Lotus Biscoff sauce to top it off.

Those with a sweet tooth will also be pleased to hear of something completely new to the Maccies dessert selection: the Double Chocolate Pie.

A firm favourite in South Korea, it’s made up of a chocolatey crust and stuffed with molten chocolate sauce. Just make sure to let it cool before taking a bite, as many of us learned the hard way when it comes to the brand’s famous Apple Pie.

Two more blasts from the past are returning, too, albeit for a limited time. The Double Big Mac (with or without bacon) and Spicy Sriracha Wrap will both be available nationwide as of June 21, with these and the Biscoff McFlurry hitting stores until August 1.

The rest of the offering will be with us a little longer, so get your Double Chocolate Pie orders in before it leaves on September 5.

Not only that, McDonald’s has revealed a new money-saving offer, helping families feed four people for under £20 amid rising costs.

Saver Meal Deals will start at £3.99, with a Cheeseburger, Mayo Chicken or Double Cheeseburger as well as chips and a drink for less than a fiver.

Alistair Macrow, Chief Executive Officer for McDonald’s UK & Ireland, commented: ‘We can’t change inflation but what we still offer is good value for money.

‘You can get a hot burger freshly made from 100% British and Irish beef served with fries made from locally grown potatoes and a drink in a lovely environment for £3.99, less than a price of a coffee in many competitors. I don’t know many people who are able to do a better job than that.’
